Corey Pavin and Colin Montgomerie will play an exhibition match on Monday October 12th at The Celtic Manor Resort, as part of a celebration marking the ‘Year to Go’ before the 2010 Ryder Cup in Wales. The two captains will play 10 holes on The Twenty Ten Course the venue for the Ryder Cup 2010 and the first course built specifically to host the Ryder Cup. The match will precede a press conference and gala dinner.

Darren Clarke has indicated that he feels that Joe Calzaghe deserves to win the 2006 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. Darren who is one of the favourites to win the BBC award has emphasised that he feels that the boxer Calzaghe is more deserving of the award and that he doesn’t want to win it on a “sympathy vote”.
