If you’re going to Valhalla for the Ryder Cup and you haven’t already found a Ryder Cup Hotel you’d want to sort out your accommodation pronto. Several of the big downtown Louisville hotels, such as The Brown and The Seelbach Hilton, are already sold out for the Ryder Cup dates. Others are selling out fast and the smaller hotels are jacking up the prices to close to their Kentucky Derby rates. With a huge influx of golf fans expected for the event, the availability of good accommodation is likely to become more and more difficult to source. So if you are going to the event or thinking about going you should investigate where you are going to stay quickly.
There are many self catering options available in the area also, which may prove to be a viable alternative although the experience around the K Club was that owner expectations exceeded what golf fans were willing to pay.
The Hyatt Regency Louisville still has rooms available.
Please contact me for more information.

Firstly, you have a great Blog and deservedly it seems to be going very well indeed.
We have just created a new website called http://www.mulliganplus.com and needless to say we are currently looking for high quality links from sites such as yours.
Our site would be of interest to anyone of your visitors looking on Courses in the UK and especially Scotland where we are adding information continually at present. As you will see, our course directory holds enormous amount of information regarding clubs and courses. If you look at Kingsbarns for example, we have all the information any visitor needs and its all be packaged into a PDF Course Guide that people can download to read, print or share with friends.
We also have a member’s area mainly for UK golfers with handicap calculator, online leagues, scorecard recorder, and a playing finder facility. Over this week we are also updating our members section and it’s presently free to join. We are developing the social networking opportunities of the site, with small individual blog sections for members etc that will be available to be viewed by the public.
Recently we also covered the Dunhill International Links Championship and we thought that some sites may be interested in using some images that we produced. We have full copyright for the images but they must be used in an editorial way and not to advertise a product. Therefore, please visit here and follow the link to view our photography of the event. If you wish to use an image, we ask that a link is added to us within the image and as a caption to the photograph.
Now, I hope that something is of interest to you and more importantly to your readers.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.
Kind regards

I ran to the web as soon as I heard I’d gotten tickets in the USGA member drawing and was stunned at the prices for even marginal motels.
I started looking into Bed & Breakfasts and most of them were also very high, if they even had a room available.
I was lucky enough to find a carriage house behind a bigger home in Old Louisville that we’re renting for the entire week for about $150/night with a full kitchen, patio, etc. It’s the owner’s first Ryder Cup, he wasn’t interested in price gouging because he was unsure what the market would bear.
I’d suggest looking in the local papers to find something similar. He can’t be the only one with guest quarters out back.
Woodhaven still has 5 rooms open for the the week of Ryder cup. Our rooms are very upscale and a full breakfast and complimentary snacks are included.
We are only 5 miles from Valhalla.
I am from Florence, KY, which is right off I-75/ I-71 that goes into Louisville. We are approximately one and a half hours from the Valhalla Golf Club and just 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. If you haven’t been to this area, you have to see the Cincinnati Skyline from the northern kentucky riverside. There are numerous restaurants with awesome views and why not take a river cruise while your at it. I work for the Courtyard by Marriott – Florence, KY and we still have rooms available for Ryder Cup at this time. We are in the very nice suburbian Florence area that is surrounded by nice restaurants, shopping and just 5 minutes from the Turfway race track – right at the time for live racing to start. We have clean rooms, the wonderful Marriott bed package, mini fridge, microwave, indoor pool, whirlpool and of course plenty of “down home” kentucky hospitality! So as the hotels in Louisville start to fill up and you are looking for options – consider the “sunny side of Cincinnati” and the Courtyard by Marriott – Florence, KY. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Please tell your readers to check out our website for houses to lease for Ryder Cup. The site is http://www.simplylouisville.com. The houses are gorgeous and spectacular!!!!Hotels are really selling out quickly.

Still no word on parking for 2008? When will the master plan be released, and is there a contingency plan if major traffic jams happen?
