Our deepest sympathy is extended to Darren Clarke and his family on the death of his wife Heather.
Heather Clarke passed away at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London early yesterday after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Heather (39) was the mother of Tyrone (8), and Conor (5) and our thoughts are with her two young sons at this difficult time.
We are all saddened by the loss of our dear friend Heather. She was someone who you just wanted to be around. We will miss her greatly. From the first day we met she was so full of life and has touched every person who meets her with her wonderful smile and positive outlook. She was someone who had great beauty inside and out. I will look back to fond memories around the pool in Kapalua and just running into one another in family dining. It will bring a smile to my face when I think of her. With love and friendship, Ashley, Stuart, Ella, and Mia Appleby and families.

[…] Darren will not make the top ten automatic selection places this time around as he has been focusing his attention on his wife Heather who recently passed away. […]
Hello from Thompson, Manitoba, Canada – formally from Westmeath.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Darren Clarke and his boys on the sad passing of his wife and dear mother to Tyrone and Conor – may fond memories help ease the pain!
I’ll be in Ireland for the Ryder Cup and hope Darren is a captains pick. I’m a huge fan of Irelands, Darren, Padraig and Paul.
Best wishes!

How proud Heather would have been of you Darren, you played such fantastic golf in the Ryder Cup 2006. It was such a fitting tribute to her memory and your two sons should be extremely proud of you, with such determination and strength shown under such trying circumstances. I hope your achievements at the Ryder Cup can help to ease your pain and loss. I am sure Heather was looking down on you with a smile.
God Bless you and your little boys.
